  1. I met my best friend working in a law firm in the 1980s. Soon we were having lunch together almost every day, just the two of us or in a larger group. But Becky stood out. A devout Catholic, she impressed me with her Bible knowledge and her Christ-like attitude toward others. She began to share snippets from readings of Mother Teresa, Pope John, and they were so similar to my own devotional readings.

Time passed and Becky moved to be closer to her aging mother. But we were still working for the same firm just in different cities, so email kept us in touch daily. Then Becky moved back to her hometown to be yet closer to her mom. I thought for sure, like many other friends, we'd lose touch.

Not so, still today, this very day, we'll exchange 3-4 emails about how our day is going, what she's doing at work, what I as a retiree am doing, what our prayer needs are, what our blessings are. She is my God-given best friend. I love her dearly, and she knows it!

Thanks for letting me share this.

  2. I've waited over thirty five years to say this: My husband is my best friend. We have only been married a year and three months, so we are probably considered "newly weds". But we have never had an unkind word, thought, or deed come between us. I attribute the peace in our home to us never missing a day of scripture study and prayer. And maybe having all our children grown and on their own helps. ;)

  3. I have had the same best friend since I was one-yesr old. We are both now 47 and we have never had a real fight. Of course we've bickered like sisters when younger, but have never had an actual argument. We love one another too much to ever hurt the other with foolish words. She's the sister I never had and godmother to my only son. I adore her!

Thanks for your daily inspirational quotes, BTW. They always speak to me.
